The San Francisco Giants could be without the services of starting pitcher Erik Hanson for one week. He is suffering from bronchitis.

Cal Ripken probably doesn't have his best years ahead of him, but he will surely contribute a lot to the Braves effort.

Atlanta locked him up for an additional 2 years at a rate of $2,130,000 per.

Team officials triumphantly announced that the Red Sox and superstar shortstop Jeff Blauser have closed a deal that keeps the 29-year-old in a Boston uniform for another 5 years.

Blauser will earn $32,500,000 as part of the settlement.

Batting .262 to date, Blauser has 6 home runs and 48 RBIs.
