Major League Baseball News Article | | | Saturday, June 14th, 1986: Jackson Put on Shelf, Listed DTD Mike Jackson of the Pittsburgh Pirates is probably going to miss a day or two as a result of a tender shoulder that doesn't seem to be getting better quickly.
"I feel okay. Not one hundred percent, but I can go if the team needs me," the Pittsburgh star performer said.
The team physician has said Jackson's time off will be about 1-2 weeks or until he can play without pain, but a trip to the disabled list is not likely.
To this point in the season, Jackson has put up these figures: 0-0 record, 7 relief appearances with 7.1 innings, no saves, 6 strikeouts, 3 walks and a 1.23 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .160 batting average. | |
