Sunday, July 13th, 1986: Rainey Baffles Toronto
The Toronto Blue Jays met their match today in Washington hurler Chuck Rainey. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 5-hit shutout.

"He just worked us over," the Toronto skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow."

In the 5-0 victory Rainey whiffed 4 and gave up 2 walks.

This season Rainey has a 8-1 mark in 11 starts with a 4.34 ERA. He has given up 113 hits in 85 innings, struck out 30 and issued 30 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .326 batting average against him.
