Thursday, July 24th, 1986: 5 Hits for Mariners Smith
"It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Seattle first baseman Chris Smith said to SION reporters after his fantastic 5-5 day against the Washington Senators at Seattle Kingdome. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."

The Mariners had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 13-5.

C. Smith hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off D. Jones in the 8th.

This season Smith has hit at a .309 clip with 46 RBIs, 8 home runs and 58 runs scored. He has played in 100 games.
