Major League Baseball News Article | |  | Wednesday, July 30th, 1986: Parker Slams Milestone Homer Swinging his way into the record books, Dave Parker reached the 300- homer mark today at Fenway Park II against the California Angels. He went 1-5 with 2 runs batted in and 1 run on the day, although Boston would go down to defeat 4-3.
"It was a distraction," Parker said of his 300th home run, "the press has been hounding me for quite some time and I'm happy that's over. I just wish I'd been able to make a difference in the outcome today."
In his 1753-game career Parker has hit .322 with 2241 hits, 300 home runs, and 1264 RBIs and has scored 1197 runs. | |
