Mbita told BNN, "I had a wonderful time with the Elms. They gave me a great opportunity. They revived my interest in baseball and really gave me a great opportunity to expand my career. I'm more grateful for the job they gave me than I am saddened and upset by the firing."
"We've got a lot of work to do," the general manager said, "and in the next several days we're going to sit down and examine all aspects of the operation. We will proceed with a search as soon as we possibly can and see if we can't set things in motion for the future of this franchise. We intend to have a new manager very soon." | | Monday, November 21st, 1988: Brewers Give Manager Wilson the Brush-Off The Buffalo Brewers have severed ties with their manager, Chad Wilson, firing him this afternoon at a hastily-called press conference.
