| Breaking News |  | Friday, July 24th, 1998: Berry Sizzles -- Smokes Stampeders for 5 Hits
What a day for Sean Berry of the Scottdale Quest! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Moose Jaw pitching apart at Quest Ballpark and sparked the Quest to a 5-4 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Berry told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
S. Berry singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off E. Sabel in the 9th.
This season Berry has hit 11 home runs and posted a .322 batting average.
