Tuesday, September 19th, 1995: Marlins Blank Expos, Ruffin Wins
Bruce Ruffin kept Montreal hitters off balance all game long as the Florida pitcher blanked the Expos 5-0. They managed to get 4 hits off Ruffin, who struck out 6 and walked 2.

In 28 starts this season Ruffin has chalked up a 10-15 record and a 4.45 ERA.
Thursday, September 7th, 1995: Esasky Socks 300th HR
Nick Esasky hit a historic home run today -- career blast number 300. "I am happy to be in such elite company. It has been quite a ride so far," Esasky said after the game.

The Marlins first baseman went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and 3 runs batted in as the Florida Marlins won 9-4 over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Esasky has a career .266 average with 1860 hits, 427 doubles, 29 triples, 300 home runs, 1200 RBIs, and 1100 runs scored to date.
Friday, September 1st, 1995: 5-Hit Barrage by Morris
Hal Morris told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."

Well, that's just what Morris of the Cincinnati Reds did against the Florida Marlins. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Marlins, who suffered a 7-5 defeat.

"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."

H. Morris hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, flied out in the 9th and singled in the 11th.

To date this season Morris is hitting .365 with 43 home runs.
