| Breaking News |  | Monday, September 25th, 1995: Gwynn Runs Hit String to 35 Straight Games Tony Gwynn has been ripping hits every day for quite some time and no team seems to be able to stop him. The Atlanta left fielder got 2 hits today against the Chicago (N) Cubs and now has a 35-game hitting streak. The Braves won the game 5-4. T. Gwynn flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and struck out in the 8th.
