Monday, September 25th, 1995: Gwynn Runs Hit String to 35 Straight Games
Tony Gwynn has been ripping hits every day for quite some time and no team seems to be able to stop him. The Atlanta left fielder got 2 hits today against the Chicago (N) Cubs and now has a 35-game hitting streak. The Braves won the game 5-4.
T. Gwynn flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and struck out in the 8th.

In 156 games this year Gwynn has posted a .338 average and put up these numbers: 8 home runs, 76 RBIs and 107 runs scored.
Monday, September 25th, 1995: NL Announces Player of the Week
So far in his young career, Ryan Klesko has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the National League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.

The 24-year-old Chicago (N) Cubs first baseman hit at a torrid .520 clip as he collected 13 hits in 25 at-bats, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 10 runs scored.

This year Klesko has hit at a .324 pace and produced 110 RBIs, 34 home runs and scored 119 runs.
Sunday, September 24th, 1995: 34 Games in a Row for Gwynn
Everyone in Atlanta is getting excited about Tony Gwynn's hitting streak. The 35-year-old left fielder extended it today to 34 games with 1 hit against Chicago (N). The Braves took the Cubs 9-0.
T. Gwynn walked in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
