Wednesday, September 13th, 1995: Gwynn Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games
Nobody has been able to shut down Tony Gwynn of the Braves in recent games. Today at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium he picked up 2 hits in the Atlanta 7-1 victory over the Dodgers and stretched his hitting string to 25 consecutive games.
T. Gwynn singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th.

In 146 games this season Gwynn has compiled a .333 batting average with 210 hits and 7 home runs. He has also scored 97 times and knocked in 65 runs.
Friday, September 1st, 1995: Hamelin Selected NL's #1 Rookie
Los Angeles (N)'s Bob Hamelin put the wraps on an excellent month today, topping it off with the National League Rookie of the Month award.

Last month the 27-year-old Los Angeles (N) second baseman played in 28 games and hit .352 with 9 doubles, no triples and 8 home runs. Hamelin also scored 21 times and drove in 31 runs.

Presently Hamelin is batting .339 with 9 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has played in 54 games and scored 33 times.
Friday, September 1st, 1995: Cordova Takes NL's Best Bat Award
Hot-hitting left fielder Marty Cordova of the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers really pounded opposing pitchers in August and collected National League Batter of the Month honors.

He hit .352 with 12 home runs and 22 RBIs and scored 29 runs.

So far in 1995 Cordova has hit .377 with 21 home runs and 59 RBIs. He has played in 90 games and scored 75 times.
