| Breaking News | | Thursday, August 24th, 1995: Strawberry Blisters San Francisco It was a parade of hits for Darryl Strawberry of the New York (N) Mets... one right after another... a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the San Francisco Giants for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats and propelled the Mets to a 8-7 victory.

It was tremendous day for Will Clark, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 6 barrage.
The New York (N) first baseman told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."
W. Clark singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off M. Turner in the 8th and flied out in the 10th.
In 1995, Clark is hitting .339 with 26 home runs and 106 RBIs in 133 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .399 with 54 walks and 93 runs scored. | | Sunday, August 20th, 1995: Jose Tags 3 HR Against Expos Felix Jose of the San Francisco Giants had a lot to celebrate in today's 6-1 win over the Montreal Expos. Three times he celebrated by pounding the ball out of Candlestick Park.
He kiddingly told reporters after the game, "Hopefully, I can continue to close my eyes and swing as hard as I can. It worked well today."
The powerful San Francisco right fielder tagged 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 4 runs and scored 3 times in his three-home-run outburst.
Jose added, "Seriously, I just try to swing early and often to give myself a chance. I let the pitcher supply all the power, I just try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball."
"We talked about changing our strategy for the third one... and then he hit another homer," the Montreal manager said. "We just couldn't get him out."
F. Jose hit a two-run home run off P. Perez in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off P. Perez in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off P. Perez in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
To date this year Jose is batting .320 with 26 home runs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 106-56, .654 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 57-24, .704 PCT | | Record on the road | 49-32, .605 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 10-8, .556 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 32-18, .640 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 45-22, .672 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 61-34, .642 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 22-6, .786 PCT | | Record in May | 19-10, .655 PCT | | Record in June | 15-10, .600 PCT | | Record in July | 21-8, .724 PCT | | Record in August | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in September | 11-12, .478 PCT |
