Friday, August 1st, 1986: Davis Re-Signs with Blue Jays
Toronto announced that they have signed 25-year-old starting pitcher Mark Davis to a 3-year, $31,290,000 agreement that will have him playing at Toronto Skydome for the foreseeable future.

In 1986 Davis has compiled a 13-4 mark with a 2.70 ERA in 23 starts.
Friday, August 1st, 1986: AL's #1 Batter Announced
Rance Mulliniks battered American League pitchers all July and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around Major League Baseball long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," Mulliniks told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I may not take the field and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 27 games, Mulliniks hit .407 with 6 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 22 runs.

This year Mulliniks has socked 147 hits in 412 at-bats for a .357 average with 18 home runs. He is getting on base at a .433 pace and his totals also include 71 RBIs and 82 runs scored.
Thursday, July 31st, 1986: Atlanta and Toronto Agree to Swap
A trade between the Atlanta Braves and the Toronto Blue Jays was made official this morning. The Atlanta Braves have sent 33-year old starting pitcher Rick Williams and $1 in cash to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for $1 in cash.

To date this year in 19 starts, Williams has crafted a 8-10 mark with a 4.71 ERA.
