Monday, September 25th, 1995: May Slams 5 Hits for Toronto
It seemed that Toronto right fielder Derrick May could do no wrong as the Blue Jays kayoed the Athletics 13-7 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Oakland pitchers couldn't get him out as May seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.

"I think the Blue Jays were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Oakland fan.

"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant May in the postgame press interview.

D. May doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off B. Givens in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

So far this year May is batting .346 with 15 home runs, 73 RBIs and 108 runs scored.
Thursday, September 14th, 1995: Oquist Tosses Shutout Against Seattle
Relying on pinpoint control and a good array of pitches, Mike Oquist of the Toronto Blue Jays held the Seattle Mariners scoreless today. He scattered 5 hits over 9 innings and fanned 8 on his way to the 8-0 victory.

In 29 starts this season Oquist has registered a 11-7 record and a 3.64 ERA.
Monday, August 28th, 1995: Blue Jays Stanicek Suffers 3-Game Suspension
Pete Stanicek didn't like the strike call, turned around and had some angry words with the home plate umpire. Apparently he went too far. The result is a 3-game suspension by the league office. The league cited his failure to leave the dugout after the ejection was the reason for the suspension.

The Toronto left fielder was ejected in a game at Toronto Skydome against the Milwaukee Brewers following a controversial third-strike call.

In 130 games this year Stanicek has posted a .267 average and put up these numbers: 8 home runs, 65 RBIs and 89 runs scored.
