| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 26th, 1988: Eppard Tags Maulers 5 Hits Today the Schooners downed the Maulers 13-5 as Jim Eppard sprayed hits all over Ballpark of Hialeah in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
The Hialeah left fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them."
J. Eppard flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
