| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 26th, 1988: Eppard Tags Maulers 5 Hits
Today the Schooners downed the Maulers 13-5 as Jim Eppard sprayed hits all over Ballpark of Hialeah in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
The Hialeah left fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them."
J. Eppard flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year Eppard is batting .301 with 8 home runs.

Brian Kingman kept Spokane hitters off balance all game long as the Hialeah pitcher blanked the Maulers 4-0. They managed to get 4 hits off Kingman, who struck out 6 and walked 1.
His record this year is 7-4 in 13 starts and Kingman has a 3.35 ERA.

Not known for his offensive prowess, Terry Bogener set the league afire in May and took home the Sub League 1 Batter of the Month award.
The Hialeah center fielder posted a steady .341 batting average, 7 home runs, 20 RBIs and 24 runs.
This year Bogener is batting .284 with 8 home runs and 29 RBIs. In 37 games he has scored 35 times.
