It was a sweet day for Jim Lindeman of the St. Louis Sun Kings, who found out he has been named the Sub League 2 Player of the Week.
The Sun Kings first baseman put up a solid .444 average and contributed 2 home runs and 9 RBIs to claim the honors.

Andres Thomas came into the today's game against Modesto rolling along with a 22-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Field of the Sun Kings. The 24-year-old St. Louis shortstop went 0-for-3 against the Redjackets as the Sun Kings were beaten 8-1.
Thomas is hitting .309 so far this season with 31 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 64 hits including 5 home runs, 5 walks and .326 OBP.

24-year-old Andres Thomas made a few St. Louis headlines during this past week as the rookie shortstop proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Sub League 2 officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 15 hits in 31 at-bats to put up a .484 average. Thomas collected 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
This year Thomas is hitting at a .314 pace with 5 home runs and 31 RBIs. He has played in 47 games and scored 25 times.
