David West of the Olcott Train put the clamps on the opposition and held the New Lexington Napalm scoreless in a 3-hit whitewash.
"He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," said the New Lexington skipper after the 8-0 loss.
West was on target most of the game and finished with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks.
This year West has compiled a 2-3 record with a 3.38 ERA in 7 starts.

 | Sunday, May 31st, 1998: Tejada Extends Hit Streak to 25 Games
Miguel Tejada collected 3 hits in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 25 games. His club, the Belgrade Ponies, beat New Lexington 11-3.
After the ballgame, Tejada quipped to a BNN reporter, "Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball. I'm pretty excited how things are clicking."
M. Tejada hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th.
Tejada is currently batting .368 with 9 home runs and 36 RBIs.
