| Breaking News | | Saturday, July 22nd, 1995: Air Force Academy's Pride Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Curtis Pride showed how it's done as he went 5 for 6 against the Louisville Thunder Jets and helped the Air Force Academy Loyalists beat them 19-8.
The manager for the Thunder Jets told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Pride keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
C. Pride singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off C. Eddy in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 7th.
In the 1995 season Pride has hit .306 with 12 home runs, 72 RBIs and scored 89 runs. | | Tuesday, July 11th, 1995: Moore Tags Thunder Jets 5 Hits It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Bobby Moore. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Moore went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Louisville pitching.
When the dust settled on the diamond at Palmdale Grounds, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Palmdale Satellites had a 12-1 victory over the Thunder Jets.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.
