| Breaking News | | Monday, September 25th, 1995: League KO's Red Sox-White Sox Players with 5-Game Suspensions It was a pretty intense fight, so Mo Vaughn and Esteban Loaiza were both suspended today for 5 games for their part in a brawl which happened in a game between the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago (A) White Sox at Fenway Park II.
Vaughn said, "Luckily nobody was hurt. I think we both overreacted to the situation."
This season-to-date Vaughn has 28 home runs and a .305 batting average.
This year Loaiza has gone 6-10 with an ERA of 5.97 and has 95 strikeouts in 135.2 innings. | | Wednesday, September 13th, 1995: Floyd Tags Rangers 5 Hits Chicago (A) first baseman Cliff Floyd could do no wrong in today's 12-7 win over the Rangers as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Rangers said to the press corps after the game.
Floyd agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
C. Floyd singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, singled in the 9th and flied out in the 9th.
So far this season Floyd is hitting .324 with 10 home runs, 76 RBIs and 104 runs scored.
