| Breaking News | | Monday, July 20th, 1998: SL1's Best Player Named
Jose Molina burst onto the Sub League 1 stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie catcher for Victoria garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 23-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .520 (13-25) with 1 home run and 9 RBIs last week.
Molina is hitting .328 this year with 3 home runs and 16 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .365, 4 walks and scored 8 times.

| Monday, July 13th, 1998: Victoria First Baseman Nets SL1 Award
The Victoria Lions received word today that first baseman Brad Fullmer was selected Sub League 1 Player of the Week for his stellar performance in last week's games.
Fullmer took full advantage of all 34 plate appearances last week as he hit .485 with 16 hits, 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
In 1998 Fullmer is hitting .292 with 113 hits, 16 home runs, 61 RBIs, .353 OBP and has scored 66 runs.
