| Breaking News | | Thursday, July 20th, 1995: 5-5 Game for Hatcher 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Buffalo's Billy Hatcher had a very special day against the Express when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Buffalo Brewers to a 7-3 win at Buffalo Grounds.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Hatcher said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
B. Hatcher singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off D. Brumley in the 8th.
During the current season Hatcher is batting at a .329 clip with 9 home runs and 64 RBIs. He has played in 98 games and scored 76 times. | | Thursday, July 13th, 1995: Tewksbury Whips Mosses "He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Mosses manager after his club suffered a 5-0 shutout at the hands of Bob Tewksbury of the Garland Express. He held the Mosses Demons scoreless in a 5-hit whitewash.
Tewksbury was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 2 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Bob did a whale of a pitching job."
Tewksbury in 1995 has fashioned a 9-5 mark, 3.43 ERA and thrown 141.2 innings in 20 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .266 against him. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 59-61, .492 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 4.0 GB | | Record at home | 30-30, .500 PCT | | Record on the road | 29-31, .483 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 5-4, .556 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 23-13, .639 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 14-16, .467 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 45-45, .500 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in May | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in June | 12-13, .480 PCT | | Record in July | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in August | 2-7, .222 PCT |
