| Breaking News | | Wednesday, May 20th, 1998: Dazzlers Corey Will Miss Season
The season is apparently over for Bryan Corey. The Montrose Dazzlers medical staff informed the club that the reliever will be out at least 8 months with a torn back muscle. Corey was hurt in the game against Watts Mills while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
During this season Corey has 5 relief appearances and registered 0 saves. Batters are hitting him at a .242 rate and his season record is 0-0 with a 4.15 ERA. He has logged 8.2 innings and struck out 2.

Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Allen McDill, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Montrose Dazzlers reliever, 26, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .224 average and walked away with the Sub League 1 Pitcher of the Month award for April.
McDill posted a 1-1 mark and a 2.03 ERA in 13 relief appearances. In 13.1 innings, he stacked up 9 saves, 12 strikeouts and 6 walks.
