This promising rookie first baseman for Burnettown garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 27-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .571 (12-21) with 1 home run and 5 RBIs last week.
This year Wilson is hitting .363, produced 40 RBIs and 5 home runs, scored 47 times and gotten on base at a .413 rate. |  | Monday, June 6th, 1988: Madison on the Attack, Player of the Week There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Scotti Madison, the Burnettown catcher, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Sub League 2 Player of the Week honors.
Madison piled up 9 hits in 15 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs while hitting .600.
This season Madison is batting .350 with 70 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 30 times and has 53 runs batted in. |  | Tuesday, May 17th, 1988: 5-5 Day for Madison Scotti Madison was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Gothams to a 12-5 victory over the Scottsdale Llamas.
After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.
In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Burnettown catcher said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."
Nobody was at home today as Madison finished the day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a line in the record book.
S. Madison hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
